Educator

As an educator, I bring a working filmmaker’s perspective into the classroom, grounded in over three decades of industry experience across studio features, network television, and independent production. I have developed and taught university-level courses in cinematography and film production at Relativity’s Studio School, where I also served as Interim Program Director, helping shape curriculum for one of the first film programs integrated with a Hollywood studio. My teaching extends globally through hands-on workshops in the United States, Curaçao, Australia, Nepal, the Philippines, and the Dominican Republic, working with diverse student populations and adapting my approach to different cultural contexts. My pedagogy is rooted in a learn-by-doing philosophy, emphasizing collaboration, critical thinking, and real-world application, while encouraging students to discover their own creative voice and engage with storytelling as both craft and social expression. By integrating emerging technologies alongside foundational techniques, I prepare students not only to enter the industry, but to shape its future.
